Great food. Great people.
(Asked to finish my review from 2015)
Yes, I still visit the place today.
Yes, they moved a few blocks away -- No longer in Siberia. I do miss grabbing drinks in Siberia, but the new location has several great pubs you can go after you're done here -- Or, heck take it to go! -

Authentic Russian/Eastern European food. The pierogis were awesome! This is a must visit every time we come in town!

After finding out about this place through Yelp, a couple of my friends and I were excited to check this place out! Kukhnya is a small kitchen in Siberia Lounge. We came when it was somewhat empty, so there were plenty of tables to sit at. Since this was our first time coming here, we were amazed at how large the menu was for being in a bar. It was a complete menu and everything sounded good! After going through everything, we decided on the Braised Beef Stroganoff with Buttered Egg Noodles, the Slavic Sampler, and the Ukrainian Meatballs with Russian Potato Salad.
Since Kukhnya is only a kitchen, we had to grab drinks from the bar at Siberia. The food took a bit long to come out, but that must have meant they were putting extra love in our dishes. When our food came out, we were amazed at how everything looked! The Slavic Sampler was a variety of Slavic appetizers and everything was good on the plate. It was very filling and my friend made it her entree. The Braised Beef Stroganoff was delicious, especially with the buttered egg noodles! The beef was a tad bit on the dry side though. The Ukrainian Meatballs were my favorite of what we chose, but my friends and I were not a fan of the Russian Potato Salad. The potatoes just weren't cooked all the way and were hard to eat. We managed to finish everything and our bellies were filled!
Overall, a great place to have dinner or late night grub! Grab a few friends to catch up over some food here and drinks at Siberia. The prices are low and the portions are just right. I can't wait to try more of their unique food! -

I didn't come to New Orleans for Slavic food but am sure glad I decided to drop by Siberia for some.
The beef stroganoff was fantastic. Even better than the one I had in the Midwest! Egg noodles were perfectly cooked and the sauce was delicious. Definitely cooked to order. Must-try.
I recommend trying this place out. It's basically right next to the St. Charles Streetcar and would be a perfect late night cap meal if you're working your way down and out of Frenchmen Street! -

Came here specifically for the beef stroganoff after reading some reviews. I was a bit skeptical on how good a simple dish like the stroganoff can be but after trying it out here I can say they make it the best I've ever had. In fact I've ordered a second helping and stuffed myself. The smell was intensely creamy, beefy, and winey. It paired perfectly with a side of garlicky egg noodles with a small loaf of garlic bread. If I lived nearby I would probably order here every week.
I would definitely recommend to skip the expensive restaurants in the French quarter and come here instead. You would probably have a better time here for a fraction of the cost.
